Serve with us!

“You didn’t choose Me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give whatever you ask for, using My name. I command you to love each other.” — John 15:16-17

Everyone can help: church communities, small groups, businesses, or prayer warriors to pray! Do you like to sing or play piano or guitar? The elderly don't want polished performances, they just want someone to come and care. Some residents are unable to get to the service by their own strength and need assistance—would you be willing to help? Volunteers have a wide choice of times and locations to serve and time commitments can be adjusted as you have availability.

Volunteer Testimonials

I was invited by our blessed sister Gloria Gallegos to Elms Haven Care and Rehabilitation Center. When I walked into that building I was amazed with what I saw—the love pouring out from the Touching Lives volunteers! I was hooked right then and there. I look forward to going to the center and volunteering, and can’t wait for Wednesday night to arrive! My excitement and passion comes from seeing how God is using me to help these elderly people that have no one and have no hope. The look in their eyes says it all as we provide them with church and give them love. My second favorite day of the week is Saturday. Every Saturday Pastor Libby and I visit with each elderly one-on-one. We pray with them and encourage them to accept Christ. I’m very grateful that God introduced me to this ministry. Seeing God’s wonderful work helps and encourages me as much as it does for the elderly.

In church we are encouraged to be God’s hands and feet. As I realize how much I enjoyed the wisdom, stories, and experience of my Opa (grandma), I thought that serving in care centers would be a good fit for me! God drew me to Touching Lives Ministry because I can love those we serve and also take Jesus to them. We sing the old hymns they grew up with and love. I must admit I did not grow up in the church, but because these songs are so dear to the residents they have become dear to me. To watch our residents’ sing and love our Jesus brings a joy to my life that can't be explained. Each week we share the salvation message and many have received Christ as their personal Savior! You might ask me why I go—it’s because JESUS sent me to them! Many of these people are running their last lap of life and NEED Jesus. To share Jesus with them, pray for and serve them is a privilege and brings great personal reward. Every week they look for me to enter the door—it's not me, but the love of Jesus they are waiting for. Come join us in sharing Jesus’ love with others. A simple touch, a smile, a prayer—it’s Jesus, using our hands and feet, that they need. I am HIS disciple and I have been called to love seniors to Jesus.
